The Kelpies --

at last!

I must be one of the last blippers in the UK to post a picture of these and we have passed several times, so near yet so far, but today we made the effort to find them.

We did get lost getting to the Falkirk Wheel ( which we have visited before) and getting directions. The problem seems to be that arriving from the west you don't pick up any signs and don't actually pass them on the road. ( Only a brief fall out and all was sorted) There was a Yorkshire Rose coach in the car park so perhaps we should have been with them.

Well worth a close up look any way.

It has been bright and breezy all the way and instead of the usual A9 north of Perth we took the Deeside tourist route which took us through some love countryside and eventually up to the ski route. This passed the Glenshee ski centre but there was only a little snow still on the mountains. A surprise after last week's weather. We saw lots of deer in this area. At least 3 groups, probably more than 100 in total. Red deer looking a bit shabby as they cast their winter coats.

We are now in Royal Deeside for the night. We have never been in this area before so more exploration tomorrow.
