A view from Jeanneb

A beautiful day.

We couldn't have had a better day for our journey north.

Off at a reasonable hour we stopped for a breakfast bap at Tebay services just after 9.00am and watched ducklings on the sparkly pond outside the cafe window ( the first I've seen this year.)

Later we stopped on Loch Lomondside, seen here, for a picnic lunch. Absolutely perfect and 19 degrees!
A brief stop in Fort William for petrol (it's enough) and looking back as we climbed up into the Great Glen at Spean Bridge you could see this great clear view of the Ben Nevis range. Extra

All wonderful, but the highlight of our day has been at our destination here in Kintail; visiting son in law John's Aunt Fiona. She has shown us around her amazing house and garden and fed us magnificently too. It was just like meeting an old friend.

Returning to our b&b for the night we passed the iconic Eilean Donan Castle lit up as the last of the sun disappeared at 10.00 pm. Extra 2. A great start to our holiday.
