White's Row.

Infamous in the Jack the Ripper saga, then a multi storey car park and now a hole in the ground which gives a fresh view of one of East London's 18th century churches.

Monday - up at 4.40, on a Ryanair flight that left 15 minutes late at 7.15 and on the Stansted Express at 9. So far, so good and no annoying Ryanair fanfares.

A text, from easyjet to say the return flight was delayed by 2 and a half hours and wouldn't get back to Edinburgh till after 11. So I booked a return Ryanair due in after 9.

A beautiful sunny day in London but a whole day in a Chapel. I met 2 new colleagues and caught up with some others inc Mr Benn who is back from his sabbatical.

The meeting was ok but scheduled for 5 and a half hours we finished 75 minutes early which left me at a loose end. I sorted out a money problem and spoke to HR and fundraising.
Then back to Stansted.

Note to self, never, EVER fly from Stansted again. Security is disorganised, they 'saw' something in my bag, there are not enough toilets, the walk to departures is one huge shopping mall, trolley cases abound and pose trip hazards and the service in Giraffe was rubbish.

Got to the gate and everyone (not me) did the Ryanair queuing thing even though they'd just announced the inbound was late and wasn't even on the stand so we took off 25 minutes late. Then back in Edinburgh we parked on a stand way out on the perimeter, beyond the tram terminus, so a bus transfer and a huge walk was required.

I should have been home by 10 and at 10.40 I'm still on a #31. And that easyjet flight, it arrived 30 minutes after Ryanair.

Travel for work isn't all it is cracked up to be.
