Eyes on Stalks?

Maybe not.
 
I know I have had my head down, busy marking all day, did I miss summer? After marking two or three scripts I do something mindless for a few minutes, such as watering the hanging baskets or topping up the small pond. When I did a walk round our large pond later this afternoon, I noticed lots of toadstools growing on top of one of the tree stumps as well as in layers down the sides; toadstools are usually a sign of autumn. Maybe we are closer to that season I must not mention in May than I thought.
