Sunny Afternoon

With all the travelling we've been doing, it's good to be at home sorting things out.

We wanted a bit of rurality, and we wanted some plants for the garden. So to the Bluebell Cottage Garden at Dutton. From there a walk along the Trent and Mersey Canal then returning via the Weaver and what we've always called "yellowhammer alley". The blip is a shot of the canal, focussing on the cow parsley and water iris, with hawthorn in the background. We had just passed a narrowboat called "Dave and Norma, Worsley", a couple of people sat alongside relaxing reading their books. I asked if they were called .......

This left us 20 minutes to buy some plants before the Garden closed. No problem.

It's a lovely spot, the local countryside is understated but really attractive. Good for wildlife and wild flowers, and pleasant views. We learnt that Sue Beesley, who owns and manages the Garden, is at Chelsea and has won a silver medal. Well done her.

We'll be back.
