Mono Monday: Art

It was all about gardens today.  Despite being overcast here in East Anglia all day, it has stayed dry (torrential rain is forecast for overnight and into tomorrow morning though).  I was able to go and do some grocery shopping for Mum and then had time to clear weeds and overgrowth from a whole section of flowerbed.

After lunch we went to what is usually one of the more deserted garden centres in nearby Aldham, where there's usually only a handful of customers wandering round.  What a difference the school half term makes - it was heaving with people this afternoon!  We managed to bag a table for our Monday hot chocolate treat, and had a browse around.  I'm not normally a fan of garden ornaments, but thought this sculpture of a mother and child was rather elegant and artistic.  It made a refreshing change from all the twee animal figures which make up most of their stock for sale.

When we got home I was able to fit in another hour tidying up in the garden before Mum and I cooked dinner together.  Poor Mum is worn out after our outing, and is now fast asleep on the sofa in front of Springwatch on the telly...
