Ride your Bike to Work Day

I left the house at 5 am (20 degrees already!!)and drove closer to the city, shaving off 2.5 hrs of riding today. I cycled in from port credit and it took me 1.25 hrs. I met up with a group on the Humber bridge at 6:30, it was a gorgeous sunrise and morning. We then rode together up through High Park and joined a larger group of about 50. This photo is the 2 groups meeting while the TV station filmed us for the news. As we slowly made our way up Bloor and down Yonge to city hall for the event there were about 300 of us, with police escort. There were close to 1000 I would guesstimate at city hall and we had a free pancake breakfast and went to work. The ride home was long, hot and in to a hearty head wind, yuck. Happy to make it back on those busy rides, now off to mindful yoga. I need to decompress!
