Arizona Dreamin’

Finally!

The United States has a woman as the presumptive nominee of a major political party for the first time in its history. It has taken 227 years, since the inauguration of George Washington in 1789. There have been two women on presidential nominee tickets as vice president - Sarah Palin in 2008 (with John McCain) and Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 (with Walter Mondale). McCain/Palin lost to Barack Obama and Mondale/Ferraro lost to Ronald Reagan. Both were landslide losses.

But Hillary Clinton has finally broken the ultimate glass ceiling in this country. I heard her speak when she was a candidate for New York State's U. S. Senate seat in 2000. I found her to be the most brilliant woman I have ever met.

I can't wait to watch her take down (and totally humiliate) the most bigoted, unstable and dangerous person to be the Republican nominee since Barry Goldwater.
