Eye to eye......

A tiny beady eye of a young white-faced heron eagerly watched as I edged closer, it was the only way to pass by. He was standing on one leg quite unconcerned for a while, next thing the other leg came down from being tucked away, he stirred his wings and looked from side to side, then gently lifted off and did a slow circuit before landing by the waters edge.

I had a wonderful walk with kiwilizzie down at the Ashley Rakahuri estuary. We headed up the river where the raupo was brown, families of pukeko's were fossicking, fantails flittered through the trees, it was ever so peaceful and most enjoyable on this bright winter's day, 14C. Have a look in my extras to see the environment we were in, quite different to the vastness of the estuary I usually show.

Thanks L, wonderful to catch up and have a natter over a hot cuppa at the Brick Mill Café.

Happy Wednesday everyone :)
