About five years ago I transplanted some of the abundance of peonies from our small north-facing front garden (here) to the back garden. I knew they don't like moving but there was nothing to lose. Each year since they've thrown up leaves  but not flowers. But this year there is a bud!

I've done the paean before so instead of saying again that I love these so much I now have them around me all year, one way or another, I'll ask a question:
