The accidental finding

Farewell British Home Stores

This was the sad sight of the empty cafe in the Cheltenham branch of BHS this morning. The store was being packed up around us.

The businessman who took over the ailing chain of department stores, and performed a magic disappearing trick with the employees' pension fund, has just bought another private aircraft. Philip Green is his name. That's one head that hasn't rolled this week, in this interesting week in British politics.

Dave and I had a fabulous lunch in Montpellier, not in BHS basement cafe. I managed not to buy anything unnecessary all day, apart from some stinky but delicious cheeses from Cheese Works. Fortunately it seems that Cheddar is the worst offender for giving me headaches. Believe me, there are alternatives!
