Tintin in the Land of the Long White Cloud Part 2

Tintin, Snowy, Hamish, Poppy, Captain Haddock and Professor Calculus have been slowly making their way up to Timaru to visit Rainie who is again hosting Tiny Tuesday.

They had a lovely time crossing back from Stewart Island to Invercargill although they did land in Bluff.  The dogs particularly enjoyed watching the albatrosses.  Poppy loves to chase seagulls and albatrosses are really just big seagulls aren’t they.    They enjoyed travelling through the Catlins and did a scenic tour of the Otago Peninsular and Dunedin.  On the way to Timaru they stopped here at the Moeraki Boulders and ran into the Giant Octupus who had terrorised all the tourists away from the boulders.   Tintin had met this one before in the Cowrie Hole and were on friendly terms so to speak so they had the boulders to themselves (which is quite unheard of really).  The Octopus was not to be confused with the Giant Squid which caused damage to the Aurora.  While they were there, they were met by Thomson and Thompson and Kiri who had given a performance at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.  Thomson and Thompson were hot on pursuit of dogs which were said to be illegally imported to New Zealand.  Well Tintin could reassure them it was not Snowy, Hamish or Poppy because they came from Australia, had the appropriate vet certificates and had been cleared by a Vet in Nelson on their first port of call.  A big tick for Tintin complying with the NZ quarantine laws unlike a certain Mr Depp.

Speaking of pirates, just at this point Captain Haddock got a message that pirates from Tuvuluva were going to steal the Aurora and set sail for Treasure Island II and so they all rushed back to Nelson.  Thomson and Thompson came with them to arrest the pirates.  Well they had to get their arrest rates up didn't they.  And isn’t that typical.  They never got to visit Rainie after all.   The dogs were very disappointed.
