If you can't beat them...

A Black and White Day.

When I woke up the light suggested it was much earlier than the clock was saying.  From there on it was downhill.  I heard a peal of thunder and rain on the window.  Being a slow riser I was still upstairs when the lights went out and the electricity was gone.

You don't realise how reliant you are on your energy supply until it isn't there.  Clickychick had a phone call to make at 9:00. No power and the telephone won't work!  We don't get mobile reception in our village so she hopped in the car and drove off to find reception,  I sat by the window trying to read but it was almost too dark.  Fortunately I could nip down to the caravan to make cups of tea.  Just as we were gathering things together to go and make lunch in the caravan the power came back!

In the afternoon CC had to go the studio and I gardened in glorious sunshine!  After our evening meal the weather was still good so we thought a walk at Derwentwater was a good round off to the day  nicely.  Two miles up the road the sun was gone but we still continued.

The day has definitely been two shades dark and light so have chosen a shot of the textures on an old tree stump and unusually gone monochrome.
