Small Tortoiseshell

I've spent a good part of the afternoon chasing butterflies and anything else in the garden that was moving -   in quite high temperatures too.  It was rewarding because I enjoyed myself but in terms of "keepers" I've not ended up with many.  It's only this last week that we've seen butterflies, and seeing them does make it feel more like summer.  Apart from running round the garden it's been a quiet day, and so good to be able to spend it all outdoors.
