Waxing Moon

First clear skies for ages so thought I'd have a go at capturing the Moon while the craters were prominent  -  and, who knows, the skies might be overcast this evening.  It's about 242,300 miles from Earth at the moment - 00.15. The next Full Moon is on the 18th August.  According to Native American folk lore the August full moon is called Sturgeon Moon because of the large number of fish found in the lakes in August.  I think out First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, would be chuffed to know a Moon is called after her.
