Giverny

Back to beautiful Monet's garden today. There are no words for how spectacular it is.
Miss E is her mother's daughter - taking hundreds of pictures of flowers! She said that if I used any of her photos in my Blip I had to say that she took it because "it's illegal to pretend you took a photo that someone else took"!!!!
So in the interests of transparency I must credit Miss E with the photo of the arch in this montage!
We had a delicious breakfast at the B&B this morning - amazing homemade jam with French bread, pains au chocolat, fruit compote, melon and croissants. Mmmmmmmmm!!!
Then we popped down to the gardens to get tickets - because despite meaning to I hadn't got round to emailing Mme S and asking her to get advance tickets for us. When will I learn?!!!! - and then went to our favourite cafe nearby for some tea, coffee and orangina. The sun was shining and we had a lovely hour or so in the beautiful gardens of the cafe.
We went back to the B&B and had a few lovely lazy hours playing Mikado which we've never come across before. It's fab!!
Last year our discovery was Yam! and now Mikado. We like our holiday games!
We had lunch out in the garden again and, again, enjoyed badminton. It's like assault course badminton with bushes, trees and garden furniture in the way!! (See extras)
Once we'd had enough exercise in the boiling hot sun we relaxed a bit - Mr K under the gazebo, the Little Misses in and out of the house playing Mikado and on their iPads, and me in the hammock eating plums straight from the tree. Bliss!  Miss E joined me after a while - one of the best half hours of the holiday so far (see extras)
We went down to Monet's garden at about 3pm. It was the busiest I've ever seen it but still wonderful. Last year it was 35 degrees when we were there, this afternoon was a much more pleasant 28 degrees. The waterlilies looked amazing and I took hundreds of pictures of them. I can completely understand why Monet couldn't stop painting them!!!
Once we'd bought our obligatory fridge magnet from the shop we went back to our cafe for ice cream.
Then it was to the wonderful Hotel Baudy for dinner.
We're a family of habit!!

Holiday Blips start here.
