Drizzle

All day it has drizzled, except for a brief period of quite heavy rain. The mist lies over the water, so that we could be on an island - no other land is visible, and the view along the East Bay is only about a quarter of a mile. There is no wind, but the air is dank. The gardens look strangely bright and green against the all-pervading grey.

And if you look very carefully straight up from the black parked car, you can just make out the garish lights of the fun-fair that has set up near the old Coal Pier. The noise of the music and of people's distant yells reverberate through the mist. For this is Cowal Games week, and the programme of events is as relentless as the weather.
