Charlotte Square

A quiet morning, followed by a lovely, relaxing afternoon spent with a friend at the Book Festival, listening to Joanne Harris in conversation.  She was talking about her latest book, a psychological thriller set in a boys boarding school in Yorkshire.  I have read some, but not all of her books, so bought the first book in this series, and queued up to get it signed.

We then bought some drinks and cake, and enjoyed sitting in the sunshine chatting about lots of things, but often coming back to books.  Eventually we thought we ought to make a move and head home – especially as rain was threatening.  The boys wondered what had happened to me – but thankfully had saved me some tea.

There was no rain in East Lothian, and the sun was still shining, so I went out for a walk round the block, getting home just before it got dark.

Here’s a view of Charlotte Square Gardens.
