Avon Gorge

Come and spend a day in the Avon Gorge. Observe the mud banks, take a dip in the soothing, brown waters and relax and let the steady roar of traffic lull you to sleep. Later, why not take a stroll through the beach resort of Avonmouth and rest a while, taking in the glorious air downwind of the sewage treatment works.

This is the sort of mood moving house has put me in! In fact, the gorge is lovely, there are Peregrine falcons to be seen. Leigh Woods, seen on the far bank, is a National Trust owned broad leafed woodland containing an iron age hill fort and a great mountain bike trail. The woodland is apparently grazed by free roaming cows or was it sheep or horses or goats or gibbons if at all?

Which box to pack next?

And Avonmouth? Well, it has its highlights.
