Starlight Avenue

This is the Starlight Avenue leading up to the Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands, Oxenhope on the penultimate leg of our 10k Starlight Hike this evening.

It was pretty wet when we arrived to register but we were on the second train (Starlight Express) out of Oxenhope station to Oakworth, on the Worth Valley railway and it had stopped by then. We then walked back through Oakworth and Haworth where there was a refreshment stop.

Apart from a short blat of rain nearing the end of the walk it really wasn't a bad evening. Lots of people were dressed up and of course you could buy various accessories including illuminated deely boppers to wear along the route.

The Starlight Avenue led us to a tent where you could fill in a star to celebrate someone's life.

Back to the station for a cup of tea and a well earned bacon buttie. A very worth while evening and I do hope they have raised lots of money.

(Thank you to all those of you who supported me by donating to my Just Giving page. Your sponsorship will be greatly appreciated by this most worthy local cause.)

PS Anyone got a use for one pair of slightly used flashing deely boppers?
