Crazy spring weather.....

Today was all about the weather and afternoon tea, what a wonderful combination :)

No snow at flying's front door but plenty of ice created from overnight squally sleety rain, it had to be blipped as my garden hasn't been white since 2012. The tiny paper daisy flowers were firmly closed, just love the droplet with reflection.

Consistently throughout the day, we've had: rain, sleet, hail, thunder, gusts of wind and small pockets of sun - all kinds of weather and gosh it was freezing!

So where does afternoon tea fit into the mix - well......Mum and I ventured out into the cold which felt like the unknown, coats, scarves, gloves and boots, no hats cause I'm not good at doing hats!

We went down to the shops for mum to get one or two things. We had a good wander round our brand new Farmers department store which looks amazing! Crisp, shiny, uncluttered with an escalator which is a first for our small town.

Another first was a cuppa at The Mediterranean Food Company, a grocery store with a small café, quite intimate and cosy and also new to our small town, specialising in Mediterranean food - delish! Certainly warmed us up today and it was rather nice to be 'out and about'.

My extras are from The Mediterranean Food Company, the groceries were going to be my main blip but I've been wanting snow/ice at my doorstep for far too long, it had to be my main blip.

PS Oh and don't mention my beautiful Lemon Fragrant Michelia - it's brown, so very brown :(( But I have another tree, the buds are still in their shells, there's hope of seeing their beautiful centre yet, it's just going to take some time.
