Marjorie's ramblings

Synchronised panting

Yet another in my unexpected series of dog photos.

After the storm last night, I assumed that today would dawn clear and fresh. No such luck. It was misty and grey. Our Wednesday long walk was  a circular from Catton. We walked up onto the moors, through woods, did a bit of bog trotting (!) and eventually saw the Allendale chimneys. These are the flues for the lead smelting that used to be done in the valley below. Usually you can see them from miles around but today we were only about 50 yards away when they came into view.

Today's walk was a fairly challenging 13+ miler for 13 walkers. (Please note Kendall - not easy at all!!)

We met a farmer with his two dogs. They had been rounding up sheep. "It's that time of year" the farmer said, so I assume that they were going to market.

The sun finally poked through as I drove into our driveway at 5.30pm.

It was a good day out and my 5th walk in 6 days. Looking forward to having 3 days off now.
