Bridge on the Beach

We walked to the nearby town of Bonassola this morning (I've marked it on the map) - a leisurely walk mainly through disused rail tunnels, nice and cool and in some places rather drippy. Just for walkers and bikers, perfect.

The sign said 22 minutes to walk there (not 20 or 25 minutes) which made us laugh!  This town is a repeat of the town of Levanto (where we have been staying) but on a smaller scale.  They had a market cranking, which we enjoyed wandering through, but just too hot for us so found a shady spot for a cool drink and a snack, then around a few streets and alleys before heading home again.

The temperatures reached 30 deg again - we really are into the Italian way needing a siesta this afternoon.

This has to be the earliest blip I have done on our trip, just 5.30 pm - it helps when I don't take many photos, but I knew as soon as I took this it would be my blip - these Italians (or maybe French) don't mind sizzling in the sunshine, their bodies are brown/black. Imagine playing cards on the beach, imagine actually taking a card table to the beach!!!

We have found the locals and other tourists so friendly and helpful - sometimes we resort to laughter, shrugging our shoulders but generally we have got by with the languages.

A huge thank you to you all for following our trip, for taking the time to comment when I'm such a slacker!!  The hearts in particular over the last two days have been appreciated immensely, thank you so much.

Rainie
