Final (Ferry Friday)

13.9C starting bright then dull with rain through the afternoon. Moderate Southerly breeze with gusts to 33 mph forecast to increase to gales through the evening, overnight, and tomorrow.

Since it was Friday and the final week of the CalMac ferry service for this year Maeve the Deerhound and I went across the park towards Low Askomill at 7am to wait for the ferry to leave. It was dry and bright with the sun just coming up over the hills behind Dalintober. We wandered along the road past the yacht club to pick a spot to watch the ferries leave. The Ballycastle passenger ferry set off across the loch before 7.30am. No yachts were leaving and getting in the way of the larger ferry today.

Maeve and I waited for the ferry to cross the loch and go past the shipyard before we came home. M31 HMS Cattistock was still moored over by the NATO jetty.

From the fish shop today ... Salmon quiche.

After lunch it was raining so Maeve and I went for a wander along the park by the ferry terminal then back before we got too wet. At the moment the ferry is scheduled to come across a couple of hours earlier this evening to avoid the wind, and so far is cancelled tomorrow.

Afternoon music ... Jazz.
