Forvie

We were up and off early today, north through Aberdeen and on to Forvie Nature Reserve and Dunes for the Relay event of the Junior Inter-Regional Championships.  The youngsters compete in teams of three, one 14yo, one 16yo and one 18yo.  Sand dune orienteering is notoriously difficult to navigate through and some of the athletes struggled to keep on line.  The Yorkshire girls did themselves proud taking first and second places but Scotland were once more victorious overall.

After the event Tony went out for a run on the area whilst I took a walk to the coast to seek out the cliffs and the sea, as in my blip, then we drove in to Aberdeen centre for a cuppa before returning to our Premier Inn.  I'm glad we decided to stay another night before heading home.
