Pick up sticks

We used to play this years ago. Today I opened this packet I had hidden away for a rainy day and played with Maddy. I got ready for work this morning but was too unwell to go, spent most of the day asleep. Bob collected the grandkids from school and they came over for a while before collection. I got up and wanted an easy game to play.

What we learnt other than fine motor skills of picking up the sticks without moving any other included adding, subtracting and multiplying the numbers we won on a calculator. How to use a calculator and how it is just as quick to do the maths in your head...sometimes. In these instructions each colour is a different amount ranging from 10-50 so the scores were in the thousands. Another lesson in itself.
