Gently down the stream

So today was London and meeting up with blipper Jinglyjan at the National Portrait Gallery for the William Eggleston exhibition of portraits.  We really enjoyed it.  I love the slightly strange edge he gets in his images of people.  I would like to have brought back a blip from there but you aren't allowed to photograph in the special exhibitions and they were being very vigilant about it.  Still, when we'd done we went to the top of the building, where you can take pictures and where there's a half glass roof as well as gallery lighting.  You can see Jan here with her camera at the ready.  It was fun!

In extras I've put in an image to show how many people go to art galleries not to look at paintings.  And there's also one taken just round the corner from the NPG showing a Jedi human statue in front of the vast hoardings advertising the Caravaggio exhibition (yes, Freespiral, it has started, on 12th, and finishes on 15th Jan).

After which we went to a very nice Italian place off Leicester Square and spent the rest of the afternoon having lunch.  Ha!

Not sure how much commenting I'll get done tonight, but will finish up in the morning.  Happy weekend  xx
