A Flight of Cranes

Cranes were wiped out in the wild four hundred years ago, and only really returned toward the end of the last century with the restoration of wetlands like Slimbridge, where this shot was taken. Apparently the correct collective term for Cranes is either a Herd or a Sedge of Cranes, but these are intent on being a Flight.

Cailleach is holding the Wild Wednesday space and this week is WildWed30. I'll offer you an extra of a very fearless female house sparrow too. I'm nice like that.
