Sgwarnog: In the Field

Graze and Blaze

The horses have been allowed back onto the slope above the dam in Tong Park for the winter grazing.

Since they stopped having all year round access to this patch a couple of years ago the meadow seems to be much better for flora and fauna in summer, as evidenced in previous blips (e.g. Betony, orchids, Common Blue, Yellow Shell and Chimney Sweeper.)

On the dam there were eight Goosanders, no doubt the anglers will be needing a restock. I must have missed one on my last visit.

And autumn blazes on.
