Fog on the Cliffs

When arriving at a new location I always find it pays to explore a little before setting up the tripod. This morning whilst the group were busy photographing a wooded Combe and old barn above Lynton I strolled across the road to a viewpoint which revealed this astonishing sight of a waterfall of fog on some of the highest sea cliffs in England.
I loved the way the sun was highlighting the fence to give an edge to the image.
Later in the day we walked down the spectacular gorge of Watersmeet where even though the water levels were low there was still plenty of opportunity for  images of the many waterfalls.A couple are  in the extras. It must be truly impressive in storm conditions.
Lunch was at the Valley of the Rocks where the temperatures were more like late Spring than Summer.
On the way back to the hotel after a very full day we stopped off near the County border to to shoot the rolling mist rising from the coast. Again as the group went off along the road I took a track in the opposite direction where I found a field of sheep with the mist rising and the coast of Wales just visible across the Severn Estuary, also in the extras.
We arrived back happy with a fabulous day of photography and ready for a superb dinner at the hotel.
