Surprise

This is not the shot I expected to get when I went into the backyard with my macro lens.  I was focused on seedpods and dying flowers when along came this unidentified flying object...a nondescript butterfly of some sort. It never stopped moving and quivering, so getting a sharp shot was very difficult... took many tries.  

As the whole world knows, today is election day... FINALLY!  It is a sunny unseasonably warm day here in the MidAtlantic region, so there is no excuse for not voting.  I expect it could be a long night as we wait for the results.  Let's hope that capturing a butterfly is the only surprise of the day and that tomorrow brings some certainty about the future.
