Flower Friday - Old Man's Beard

Strictly, not a flower, or only the style which forms the seed, of the Clematis Vitalba. Old Man's Beard is how it's known here. The recent frosts have done terrible things to our flower beds, but this has to happen to make way for the next year's growth, to prepare the soil, and to kill off the bugs. Nature is harsh when it comes to the end of the season. :-) As it happens though,. I rather like the effect here, in the bright sunlight.
