The good old days

Last night we stayed in the Corner House Hotel in Leeming Bar, which is really the village pub. It was fine and we had a good meal there.

This morning before we set off for Edinburgh we wandered across the road to the station, on the Wensleydale Line, a 22-mile restored line between Leeming Bar and Redmire. There were a great many coaches in the station, a few diesels, a restored tank engine and a sadly decrepit BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0  heavy freight locomotive, number  92219, which was built at Swindon Works in 1960. It's apparently on the list for restoration, but if it doesn't start soon it will be too late!

We arrived home in Oban not long after 6pm. I must now back-Blip for the last two days.
