An ordinary life....

Clear Blue Day...

Bit of a hectic, topsy turvy day.

Up by 6am.  Manic day building wise with the guys forging ahead to get the kitchen ready for the new kitchen arriving on Monday.   Plumbers running around testing radiators to make sure we have heating and hot water over the weekend (oh the luxury).

All going well until the Gastro nurse called back in the afternoon (I'd spoken to her at 11am to give her the results of Alan's blood test) to advise she had spoken to the Consultant and he wants Alan to be admitted to hospital to have IV steroids to try and get on top of this flare up as quickly as possible.

It was arranged that we will take him to hospital after lunch tomorrow so had to nip out for some provisions.  The Gastro nurse was fantastic and she's managed to get him a bed in the gastro ward, although I've to phone in the morning to make sure the bed is still available.  If not, he'll be on a medical receiving ward.  Not great.

Poor David's had to come all the way back from his lads weekend away in the Lake District, a journey that took 6 hours due to an accident on the M74 closing the road and the planned Raith interchange closure.  The snow, sleet, fog and rain didn't help.

Anyway he's home now and we just have to work out the logistics of being in two places at once for the next 7 days.
