Diary of an Edinburgher

Frosty!

Another bright crisp winter day - I love this weather. Mind you, I didn't rise till the sun was well over the yardarm and the worst of the frost had disappeared.

A jaunt out was considered. Bus trip to somewhere to remind Archie not to bark on buses? Beach? Park? Country Park? Eventually we ruled them all out in favour of just a stroll across the Links with a coffee in Bruntsfield. This was quite far enough for me, with plenty of benches for me to sit down.

Texted Rufus and his mum to join us, and we all dandered across, Rufus and I bringing up the rear at the same slow pace. The dogs had a bit of a frolic around in the still frosty Links, and I had a sit down while directing JR where to take photos. A frosty one then a leafy one (extra). Then on for a coffee and (shared) apple strudel in the dog friendly Falko (extra).

JR was then tempted to have a wee look round the shops, so Christine took charge of both dogs, with one arm being tugged out in front (Archie), and the other being tugged out behind (Rufus). It was much easier across the Links, where they were off their leads.

JR arrived home with a couple more items to add to the Christmas mantelpiece display, and Christine and Rufus came up when it got dark to view the display and crack a bottle of bubbly, for no particular reason.
