Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Spotted

The spotted pony was waiting expectantly at the side of the path and seemed a little disappointed that all I had to offer was a scratch on the nose.

Down at the dam there was no sign of the Goldeneye, so that must have been just a flying visit. The Goosanders are still there though, four male and two female today. At some point this year's cygnets must have set off for ponds new; the pen and cob are alone again together. The Grey Heron was in its usual spot at the end of the pond.

Around and about there were plenty of Redwing, Goldfinch, Long-tailed Tit and a couple of fleeting glimpses of a Bullfinch. I thought I might have seen a couple of the local Parakeets for the first time, but they were too distant for me to be sure.  And still no Waxwings.
