A slice of Lesley's life

Super hero

Uncle Rob further secures his super hero status amongst the kids by being the only adult able to throw them as high as their crazy minds' desire (before he is too insulted, I will note that Carl does a fair job but even he would admit he's no Uncle Rob). Not sure how much longer Uncle Rob will be either but he's satisfied the kids for another year much to all our delights. There was also an amusing "lads v dads" game of Scottish football - so named, only because it is played with a small Scottish football and for no other reason - which seems to largely entail each time trying to get the ball to touch the tiles at the opponent's end of the pool. There have been two games so far and when the lads (aged 8) won the first one the dads (aged a bit more than that) sensed that the tide of dominance might be turning and seriously stepped up their game to win the second.

I saved myself for the slightly less violent games of sunshine (think grandma's footsteps), casa mia (or Marco Polo) and stuck in the mud.

The late afternoons seem to be getting hotter and hotter so the afternoon pool session didn't start until almost 5pm and so we were all very ready for our thrice cooked barbecue pork ribs and toasted marshmallows after all that activity.

In reverse-ish order the morning had been spent with a lovely beach trip to the only local sandy beach we have found and lunch at Joaqium's.
