Around Harlaw Reservoir in the Pentlands

Christmas Eve passed as many Christmas Eves have passed over the years. Going out to get the last few things for the festive events, doing the last minute jobs, preparing vegetables and the myriad of accompaniments that go alongside the turkey; ham, stuffing, sausages, sprouts, red cabbage and so on.

We did get chance for a blow around the reservoirs where we saw several other people who all had the same idea. Quite different to how it was in June which is the extra I've shown. Of course despite lists inevitably we forgot the Camembert for tonight's dinner - a roasted vegetable with Camembert pie. We enjoyed the cheese purchased yesterday at Mellis's afterwards.

Four of us went to the Midnight Watch at Balerno Church. Very enjoyable to focus the mind on the real reason for Christmas as the clock turned midnight and we sang the verse of "O come all ye faithful" which is only sung on Christmas Day itself.
