Running Girl

We had another fab day out today! This time at Whipsnade zoo with Nana.
I am so tired I can barely type this - all that walking and animal spotting and whining and crying from Miss L has worn me out.
It was perfect zoo weather - not too hot and not too cold!
Miss E took charge of the navigation and marched round all day, map in hand taking us to the giraffes and the zebras and the flamingos and the hippos and the elephants..... It was a somewhat circuitous route but we had fun!
Another highlight was Miss E's "free" twenty minutes on the bouncy castle. She rushed up, took her shoes off, jumped on it and stayed there. I didn't have the energy to make her get off and didn't want to fork out £1.50 for just five minutes. Nana and I just sat on the grass pretending she was nothing to do with us waiting for her to wear herself out. Or get thrown off!!! The child young man taking the money didn't seem too fussed!
There was a baby pygmy hippopotamus which was only a couple of days old and so cute!
Miss E's favourite thing was the Run Like a Cheetah exhibit. There was a small track towards crash mats and you pushed a button and the chidren ran as fast as they could into the mats. Their speed was then flashed up on a proper athletics timer. Miss E managed an astonishing 19mph so I suspect the timer was a bit faulty!!!
