Operation Frankish

I kept thinking it's a Saturday instead of Bank Holiday Monday; that's because of the Cardiff City FC v Aston Villa match, and they normally play on a Saturday when the kick off is 3pm.

Cardiff put in an excellent performance and went ahead in the 16th minute with a goal from Joe Ralls (see blip photo), a lead they held onto against a good Villa team managed by Steve Bruce. Our stand in keeper, Brian Murphy, put in another man of the match performance which will almost certainly make him our No.1 from now on. The win and 3 points has put us in 19th position with a game in hand from the cancelled game last Friday night due to fog over The Amex Stadium, Brighton.

For about 20 minutes, the plane in the extra photo, kept circling the stadium displaying the banner with the words 'Operation Frankish stands with Wales'. It confused the supporters; this is what it was all about.

I'm on call this evening but will enjoy a whiskey as soon as clock off time comes around!
