Whoops

After their breakfast feed, let the horses out on to the fields to enjoy some prancing around in the snow, something they enjoy, at least for the first few days. I then got on with mucking out.

At some point I came out of the stables and saw Asyr lying in a hollow alongside the sand (snow) school and half under the wire fencing. Asyr at 31, has had several times when he has laid down and not been able to get up on his own. Usually it has happened in the stables when he gets stuck between walls. In this case the hollow was the main problem. Not sure how it happened, whether it was a slip or whether he had laid down to have a roll and then been bullied by Sultan who likes to fool around. He was clearly exhausted so had probably been there for a while.

In the Blip, I had removed the wire fence and was about to see if I could pull him around. Not that easy but eventually we managed it and no damage done. He looks very small in the photo but I can assure you 400-450kg is not easily pushed around, not even on snow.
