To Glasgow

Through to Glasgow - first up, a call in at the Chip, all very good but ironically enough, slightly disappointing chips. But onward to Oran Mor to see a Celtic Connections triple bill - Alice Drinks The Kool Aid, Nathan Bell and James McMurtry. Not that I really knew any of them. However, the lead guy in Alice Drinks The Kool Aid owns the Lagunitas Brewing Company - and there was free beer. Kid you not! And it was bloody good IPA. The only thing I didn’t realise immediately was that it was 6.2% abv, so it really shouldn’t have been approached like a session beer. Anyway, Nathan Bell was just excellent. An amusing guy, great guitarist and superb songwriter. With his heart in the right place. The James McMurtry guys finished it, and me, off by rocking on out for a couple of hours. Phew, top stuff. Just as well that we’d wisely opted for a room in the City Centre rather than trauchling back east. The subway was quite complicated enough to navigate.
