Snow in Amsterdam

Our first evening here in Amsterdam has been a delight.  Its cold, the temperature is below freezing, and the snow that fell a few days ago is still lingering, as you can see.  

We've not been too far this evening.  Having checked into our hotel and unpacked there has been time for a few drinks and an evening meal, plus a walk to try to get our bearings.  The pavements are slippery in places, and we need to keep remembering to look out for bicycles and mopeds in the many bicycle lanes, as well as the cars and trams. :-)

We spotted this small art exhibition entitled "skulls and shit" ~ somehow it seems terribly appropriate for this particular city.

Tomorrow gives us the chance to explore properly - can't wait :-)
