Abstract Thursday: "Travels"

The Abstract Thursday theme of "travels" was appropriate for us today as we had to make a semi-urgent, unplanned trip to Macclesfield. A couple of days ago Mum-in-Law fell at home and hurt her knee. As her memory is so poor she now has very little recollection of the incident, so we've no idea how long she lay on the floor (?minutes or hours?) but we do know that somehow she managed to use her call button to summon help. There's no fracture but she's very wobbly and is currently in hospital for tests and assessment.

Whilst it will be sad for her to give up her home we think this will be the trigger to persuade her that it really isn't safe for her to live on her own any more. So in the next few days we need to find a care home for her to convalesce - and probably to move there in the long term. She's actually done well to manage on her own for so long, especially as she was widowed 26 years ago.

Although we were travelling, which was useful for today's theme, I didn't have a lot of time to work out a blip. This shot was taken when we stopped for lunch at Wetherby Services on the A1. It's taken from the carpark but there were trucks going along the road in the background. I've tried to make it semi-abstract with some distortion in Photoshop. Sadly the blue sky didn't last for the whole journey!

Thanks again to Ingeborg for looking after AT at the moment.

Thanks also to everyone who had a guess at my "whatsaat" blip yesterday. Many of you sussed out that it included a tripod and I suspect that one or two guessed what it actually is. It's a projector screen (see today's extra), with the screen bit rolled up in its integral case; as it's a free-standing one it does include a tripod base. I'd not used it for about 12 years since I last took some colour slides, but I dug it out this week as my Editor promised to lend it to the local women's group which needed it for a show at one of their meetings.
