But, then again . . . . .

The Pentland Hills (Again).

Yesterday’s snow has cleared from all bar the Pentland Hills which look as though they would have been a good place to be this morning; however, shortly after the Blip had been Blipped, the sun went back in for its lunch and didn’t come back out again. By early evening, there was a light drizzle that is due to turn nasty overnight.

We went to Mrs Merlin’s to pick up her shopping list but it was not ready for us and she was fast asleep; we made one up for her, did the shopping and had lunch at the garden emporium before making her delivery. She was still asleep and, since waking her only causes complications, we let her lie. On arriving home, there was a message from her on our phone to tell us where to find her list; she had called a few minutes after we had left her house!

Meanwhile, the garden emporium is selling the rather disgusting ornaments, one of which is featured in the extra; they’re sharing their space with some similarly situated kittens and the unavoidable meercats. I didn’t check the prices as we have absolutely no intention of buying any. The consolation is that the fish and chips they serve is excellent; according to Herself, the Cullen skink is the best in Scotland (she has actually sampled it in Cullen) and the coffee is the best in Midlothian. We’ll just have to put up with the tacky ornaments and other merchandising.
