Pack-up day 2!

Friday
Having spent the night at a hotel in Fontainebleau, we managed to arrive back at the house just as the movers were backing their truck up to the door. Today there were six of them, and while some of them set about wrapping and boxing the remaining items, the others started loading the truck, with boxes and furniture that had been wrapped yesterday. They weren't able to get the container down the shared driveway, so they loaded two small trucks, then when the container arrived after lunch, drove those up to the container parked on the road. So by lunch time, the bedrooms were empty and I was able to start vacuuming and mopping the tiled floors. The container was loaded and on its way by about 3 pm. I should add the container wasn't full - only about two thirds! We then drove out to friends Penny and Simon in Flagy. We had sold them our gas barbecue grill, which we had taken round to them yesterday late afternoon, but we had to take it totally apart in order to get it in the car, and we had promised to return today if we had time, to reassemble it! Penny unfortunately was out, so I didn't get to say goodbye to her, but Simon kindly treated us to a cup of tea and some biscuits for our trouble. In the evening we celebrated everything being packed up, by a very nice meal out in Fontainebleau, at a somewhat upmarket restaurant that we've just eaten at a couple of times for special occasions.
