Marjorie's ramblings

Steep learning curve

It was fine and bright, so we set off to Wallington to see the snowdrops.

I asked where we should go and was directed to a path through the east wood, accessed from a disabled parking area near the Walled Garden.

What I have learned today:
1) I need to go to the gym for upper body strength exercises
2) Pushing a wheelchair on a rough path is no fun
3) Someone needs to lose weight!
4) Always double check with a second person when you want to see snowdrops. There were very few in the section we visited.
5)Make sure the guide understands that wheelchairs don't do flights of steps well.
6)Try to reassure your passenger that you are really NOT going to tip her into the lake
7)Use an electric wheelchair next time/don't go to Wallington with a wheelchair.
8)If the passenger needs a blanket around her shoulders, it will not cover her knees.......

We had a good laugh at times, but it was hard work.  We did not see many snowdrops and missed the crocuses entirely.

Better luck next time.

Editorial note: Next time? You must be joking.
