New Friends

I love this image, taken on a mini-blip meet this morning with Osuzanna.  Suzanne and I go out as often as we can to explore the local parks, usually looking for wildlife.  Today the closest we could come was a few sparrows. The windy cold weather must have forced them all into hiding, probably in shock after the unusually warm days we've been experiencing.  So we made some stops at the horse farms we passed on the way home.  At first the horses were oblivious, and Suzanne needed her 600mm lens to get a good close-up.  Next thing we knew, the inquisitive horses ended up literally at the end of our lenses.  Suzanne couldn't get rid of this one.  He followed her as she walked up the fence line.  You should check out her journal (especially if you're a horse lover) because she ended up getting a great shot, and yes it was close up.  It so happens that it is also her 3 year blip anniversary, a very special occasion for a blipper.  You can see her beautiful photo and amazing journal here.

I have added a photo of a miniature horse at that farm in extras.  He needs his mother to give his hair a good brushing.

On another front, my stint of hosting Tiny Tuesday is coming to a close.  It has been a delight getting to know you all better by reading your journals.  I have learned so much looking at your images and have gained new ideas for tiny subjects.  This week’s selections for hearts were just as difficult as previous weeks, but here they are, in no particular order:

Dollykgray  for the interesting and effective composition involving a rose, tea bag and reflection
rainie for a triptych of tiny toes, hair and fingers
trisharooni for droplets on moss with a golden glow
V1k1  for soft cosmos with a beautiful DOF
DonnaWanna for a little green hat on a gum blossom

In addition, please have a look at these honorable mentions:

The following volunteers have kindly offered to host Tiny Tuesday for the next few months:  Freyjad for March, Trisharooni for April, and JDO for May. Thank you!!!
