Flowers on Friday

A pleasant walk this morning along the Leeds Liverpool canal, the River Aire and up to Milner Field on our way back.

Here alongside the River Aire are some lovely spring daffodils. With no sun today the crocus weren't open but the daffodils looked bright and cheerful.

Beyond the river is Salts Mill in Saltaire the Unesco World Heritage village. The mill is predominantly apartments and offices now but still looks very imposing.

Crossing Roberts Park from here we saw that the Half Moon Cafe still hasn't reopened since being damaged in the 2015 Boxing Day floods. Just beyond the park before turning up to Milner Field the other wier here on the river also remains in a state of disrepair as a result of the same floods. I believe there is a fundraising appeal to restore it.

When the post came this morning it brought my bus pass. Let the adventures begin!
