Daffodils at Capel Manor

An exceptional day all around. Great spring weather, a good journey to see Al and Liz in Waltham Abbey, lovely lunch and a pleasantly suprising visit to Capel Manor in the afternoon. We'd been there before with Al and Liz, Capel Manor is a College specialising in land based studies from horticulture to animal husbandry and saddlery, garden design, conservation and arboriculture.

The gardens were in their full spring clothes with lots of bulbs bursting out. An interesting section is of several "show" gardens of different types including the Queen Mother's Garden, Recycled Garden, a street of front gardens, a dry garden a shady garden and so on. A new addition to the College has been the animal area which is still developing where students learn to care for a whole range animals from ordinary to exotic. I've included some of these in the extras.

Back to Al and Liz's for the customary tea and cake and for me a quick wizz around Lightroom to see if it was something that I might be interested in using with my photographs. I've heard many blippers referring to using the product to work on their shots.

But the day was not over as we went out to their local Indian restuarant for a really good meal. Fortunately we walked there and more importantly back to help deal with the meal before we folded ourselves into the car for the somewhat slow journey home - diversions, speed restrictions and roadworks all having an impact.
